Cardi B is all Set to Make You Feel Like a “Bad B*tch” With WAP
It is time for Cardi B to be back with a bang! As the cover artist of ELLE September issue, the 27-years old goes candid about her music, her personal life, and the motive of her music. Cardi is back with her latest single WAP featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
This is the second music video after her debut album, Invasion of Privacy made some noise a few years back. As usual, the Bronx rapper is back with a boom stirring the internet into a frenzy, and exciting her fans across the globe. The music video also stars celebrities like Normani, Rosalía, Mulatto, Sukihana, and Rubi Rose. One can also spot Kylie Jenner, which the fans never expected!
The rapper is known for opening her mind and heart when it comes to herself. In her usual self, she spoke about her music in the Elle feature , “My music is always going to make a woman feel like a bad b*tch. “When you make a woman feel like she’s the baddest b*tch in the room, to me, that’s female empowerment.”
What’s WAP All About? Cardi B Gets Candid About Her Latest Album, Politics, And Racism
Going candid about her latest album, she added, “But this album is going to be really different. Of course, it’s going to have my Lemonade moments, my personal relationship moments . . . I don’t want to just put out a single and have people buy it because I’m Cardi. I want to put out really good music.”
With the hint that she has been passing on with her comments, we are rest assured that WAP is typically her kind of music and lyrics and video. And it is exclusively dedicated to her fans.
It is not just the music that Cardi spoke about in her interview with ELLE. She has lots to express about politics and racism. She vividly mentioned the tragic Breonna Taylor murder incident, calling it an insane thing to happen and seeking justice for the deceased.
“That is so insane to me,” she said. “What they did to her is really f*cked up. What’s the excuse? Why is the cop not in jail? Wasn’t what he did a crime? It’s a crime! And no apology. No apology. No video of the cop coming out crying, ‘I f*cked up. I don’t this. I don’t that.’ Nothing. It’s nothing. I don’t even know how her mom still holds her head up. Unbelievable.“
“Not everything is the president.”
Further talking about the current scenario of the United States, Cardi opened up about her opinion of President Trump and what exactly she needs him to do for the country and its people. “He’s not doing anything for anybody. He’s just saying things that appease the same people. I want a president who makes me feel secure. I want a president who understands the pain of the people,” she shared. “I want a president who is going to give us answers.”
She didn’t hesitate to point out that she supports local elections and that she has been rallying her fans to take part in voting at all levels. “You can vote for DAs. You can vote for mayors. You can vote for your district. Not everything is the president.”
The upcoming interview of Cardi B on September issue of ELLE as well as her much awaited latest album are both exciting things to watch out for. Excited? So are we!
